"Coughlin nails it with feeling!" Marke Andrews Vancouver Sun

Former Windsorite Joe Coughlin has released a new CD entitled "Low Down West Broadway" and judging from the headline of this post, it's a hit. It appears that is has been a banner year for Mr Coughlin, as he is also the 2009 recipient of the National Jazz Awards "Male Vocalist of the Year". You can find more info at joecoughlinjazz.com

Montreal's Best Pay Tribute to Len Dobbin

Some of Montreal's finest jazz musicians gathered on August 9th to celebrate the life of a long time fixture in the local jazz scene. Len Dobbin, a veteran broadcaster, and Gazette jazz critic, passed away in July after suffering a stroke while attending a performance at the Upstairs Jazz Bar. Mr Dobbin hosted a Sunday evening broadcast on CKUT. Among those who appeared at the tribute were pianist Oliver Jones, vocalist Ranee Lee and the Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir
